Rheannon Murray - Australian Based Artist

Currently located in the beautiful small town of Denmark, in the Great Southern Region of Western Australia. My works are inspired by giant Karri trees, the bluest of blue seas and the vast landscape that surrounds me.

I'm a mixed media artist, with strong connection to nature and nature based art therapy. My works range from eco printing with foraged eucalypt, landscape photography, mixed media original artworks, abstract art and textile art.

I experiment and express through my creations, without limiting myself to one specific medium I am able to continue to develop my artistic style while finding pause and connection through creation.

I love collaboration and shared creative flow, often creating with my daughter and mother (who are both amazing artists on their own!).

Rheannon (Rhea) Murray has a rich creative history heavily anchored in the Port Stephens region of New South Wales. Before bringing her Earth and Heart Musings brand to Western Australia, she was a deeply involved local organizer, exhibiting artist, and leader within the Hunter region’s coastal art scene.

Community Leadership: In late 2016, Rhea helped lead the collective’s physical move to its high-profile gallery home at d'Albora Marinas in Nelson Bay.

The "Ponder" Exhibition: One of her premier showcases at the gallery was a joint exhibition titled "Ponder", where she paired her organic, eco-printed textiles and local photography alongside multi-award-winning artist Gennifer Anderson

Lion Studios (Taylors Beach, NSW)

Rhea frequently collaborated with Lion Studios, a versatile design, printing, and art exhibition hub based in Taylors Beach.

  • Annual Showcases: She was part of major group community events, such as the studio's highly collaborative "Port Stephens in Print" exhibition series. This showcase naturally matched her professional work in eco-botanical printing, landscape framing, and regional photography.

Ceramics

Rheannon's ceramic work is a natural extension of her earthy, process-driven style, heavily focusing on hand-built textures and raw, botanical imprints.

Creating a range of functional art and developing her skills, her one off pieces range from bird 'pod' houses, bee baths, matcha bowls, mugs, serving platters and custom made gifts.

Rather than perfectly uniform, wheel-thrown pottery, her pieces embrace a "perfectly imperfect" aesthetic that values the natural irregularities of clay.

From The Leaves To The Sea

"From the Leaves to the Sea" (often referred to by its core signature series, "From the Leaves"), was a major success that showcased Rheannon's artistic transition to Western Australia.

  • A Celebration of the Great Southern: The entire collection was directly inspired by her new home, capturing the dramatic contrast between the region's giant Karri forests and its deep blue seas.

  • The "From the Leaves" Signature Style: The headline pieces featured layered, complex compositions blending real foraged eucalypt eco-prints with morning mist photography and mixed-media textures reflecting South West winters.
